It all started with a simple greeting. This one simple phrase has empowered people in Zimbabwe, empowers us daily and now empowers you and those around you.
I am strong, if you are strong™; If you are strong, I am strong - there is no right or wrong way to say it. What do YOU think of when you hear those words? Is it a friend or a loved one? A cause that is near and dear to your heart?
The beauty of it is that those 7 simple words have the power of change - change in your life, your family's lives, your community and our world. it's meaning or definition belongs to YOU and you get to decide what it means and how it influences those around you. It is a simple mantra with infinite use and understanding.
Chant it as you push through the crux of a marathon; share it with a loved one through better or worse; say it as you simply put one foot in front of the other in your daily life. Let it become a lens through which you view the world, and as you do, you will find that those around you will view you through that same lens.
For us, it has become a way of life.
We are artists, musicians, students, activists, entrepreneurs and people, just like you, inspired to better the world around us. Introduced to this phrase by the people of Zimbabwe, we have been moved to live our lives defined by I am strong, if you are strong™.
Zimbabwe has, in recent years, become a humanitarian crisis. Economic collapse, poverty and oppression have brought the once shinning nation to the depths of despair. Yet, even through immense struggle, the people of Zimbabwe continue to live by the phrase Ndakasimba Kana Makasimbawo; I am strong, if you are strong™.
As we worked together on projects, we realized we had the same dream. A dream to create a company that sells good quality products that send a positive message and convey empowerment. A dream of creating a business model with products that empower the designer, the creator, the wearer, the giver, the receiver AND are produced in a socially responsible manner. Our mission was to create a store where the proceeds not only go back to the store, but support communities, individuals, non-profits and other organizations as well. The proceeds from every purchase you and your friends make from our store supports our partners and our community.
